A souvenir disc of the reunion events was sent to all who attended one or more of the happenings. Glad to report that the response was terrific with calls coming in from all parts of the country. Identification of the pictures was a monumental undertaking since our classmates looked much younger than their high school pictures. The entire reunion committee thanks you for your kind words and emails.
The IHS Scholarship
As we noted in prior correspondence, our class now participates with the classes of 1958, 1960, 1961 and 1962 in a scholarship program wherein monies are given to outstanding Irvington High School seniors who are pursuing a college education. Pictures of previous award winners are posted our web site and this year our class collected well over $2,000 for continuing this very important legacy. Scholarships are also given to IHS students who are in college and who are maintaining high academic standards.
We will be sending letters to all of our classmates in early fall, asking for a donation so that we, as a class, will to continue to participate. We are asking for a minimum contribution of $20 from each classmate and thereby this will ensure that we have enough funds to donate to the 2011 scholarship. Checks should be made payable to the Irvington High School Scholarship Committee and should be sent to Nancy Seifert, 1090 Sunny Slope Drive, Mountainside, NJ 07092. We will have all of the information in our letter this fall. Please note all donations are tax deductible and your name will be listed on the donations pamphlet.
